What is True Love?
If you search for the meaning of true love, you will get lots of different answers. You will find that some relate true love to physical intimacy while others think you have found true love when you can trust someone. There are those who base true love on the Biblical meaning of love, and many people base love on a feeling they get.
To summarize some of these definitions of true love, here is what a lot of people say about it. They say when you find your soul mate, that person you can't live without and who compliments you, then you have found true love.
Others would argue that true love is more than finding someone who completes you. Being willing to actually sacrifice your own needs and desires for that person is what it takes to truly be in love. These individuals also propose that love is an action, not a feeling of wooziness.
Biblical believers cling to the meaning of true love as being patient, kind, not self-seeking, not easily angered and not focusing on another's mistakes. Most Christians look to Jesus for examples of true love.
Every person defines love based on their own experiences, relationships, situations and moral foundations.
